He has been told that the single telecoms provider has no suitable infrastructure and Daniel’s company would have to pay for this to be installed (he does not want to pay). Terri, Daniel’s boss based in Atlanta, has the targets of remaining operationally efficient (i.e. look after Ron), and also reducing the IT budget this year by 1%. **Main difficulties** 1. Money is tight and there is a target to reduce IT spending. 2. The Austrian Telecoms company (**Martin)** is the single provider and not really very interested in Daniel’s problems.  **Martin** has some options: 1. Force the customer to pay everything; 2. Agree to pay 50-50 3. Pay for the infrastructure and charge a higher line rental. 3. **Ron** is the plant manager, based in Vienna. Faced with constant communications problems and delays which would be easily solved by a faster communications line.
