The aim of this task is to activate the latent vocabulary and grammar which participants need to make general chit chat with strangers, colleagues or acquaintances, but it can also be used in conjunction with other small talk activities to practice sets of standard phrases. Here participants will have a chance to ask and answer questions about their work, interests and family using a mixture of present and past tenses.
